Deadpool (2016) SPOILERS!!!! CAUSE THOUGH HOPEFULLY SOMEONE PAYS ATTENTION THIS TIME
This is a 2016 action/comedy/romance (I was forced to say romance) which has the themes of loyalty, love and social commentary. The film was directed by Tim Miller. The film was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The film was produced by Simon Kinberg, Lauren Shuler Dunner and Ryan Reynolds. The main stars of the film are Ryan Reynolds, Ed Skrien, Stefan Kapicic, Brianna Hildebrand, T.J Miller and Morena Baccarin. The film was funded by Fox and Marvel with a budget of $58,000,000 and has made $135,000,000 in it's opening week though it hasn't been a week. The film has won 0 awards as it hasn't been out for a week. The film follows the story of how Wade/Deadpool attempts to get revenge on Ajax who has disfigured him and has also kid naps his girlfriend. For this is I shall be looking at the performance and the editing.
This shall be looking at the editing of the film. In the opening credits the sequence is done in slow motion. The purpose of this is to show to the audience that this will be a dramatic and action filled film. However when this sequence happens very comic things are seen such as a wedgey, hello kitty and a poorly drawn image. To add to this the actual opening credits are not serious for example of this is it says "Written by the true heros of the film and Directed by an over payed tool." This is telling the audience straight from the start that this is definitely going to be comedic.
For this I shall be looking at the performance. Throughout the film we see the charter of Wade/Deadpool go through a variety of emotions. This goes from a clear sense of devastation when being told he has cancer however when he goes to see Colossus he is very up beat showing us that he has allot of diversity. Often when Deadpool talks to the audience talks to the audience breaking the fourth wall to clearly signify this he faces the camera addressing the audience.
